The September 21 Deep Clean update

The Deep Clean update changed dozens of interactions players repeat every day. Keyboard bank PINs, quicker travel menus, fewer confirmation boxes and cleaner interfaces were the parts I noticed most.

There was also a skillcape visual refresh and a larger Player-Owned House furniture limit.

Bank PINs and travel shortcuts

Keyboard bank PIN entry is available for characters linked to a Jagex account, with a toggle in Settings. You can keep using the on-screen buttons if you prefer.

Left-clicking a Fairy Ring now opens its configuration interface directly. Right-click options include travel to Zanaris and the last destination, so you can repeat a trip without entering the code again.

Varrock, Watchtower, Camelot and House Teleport can show alternate locations on the right-click menu when you meet their requirements. Those options suit the muscle memory I already have from Old School.

The TokKul-Zo now holds up to 40,000 charges, costing 10 TokKul per charge to recharge. At the Deep Sea Fishing Hub, Deposit All Fish also includes fish carried by your Beast of Burden.

Boss bars and instances

Older bosses including the Corporeal Beast and Chaos Elemental received the modern boss health bar. Its fade-in was reduced and it was moved above XP drops and orbs to make it easier to read.

Most boss instances no longer warn that they are about to expire. God Wars Dungeon 1 and 2 remain exceptions because kill count matters there. Re-entering an existing God Wars Dungeon 2 instance no longer asks for confirmation, and God Wars Dungeon 1 private encounters open the instance menu directly.

Fewer confirmation boxes

Death no longer asks for confirmation when reclaiming items unless the value is above 100M GP, and another box in the reclaim process was removed. Cutting dragonstones into bolt tips no longer produces a warning; the warnings for onyx and hydrix remain.

Several repeated actions gained a Don't ask me again option, including some PvM Hub portal teleports, quick-selling animals through farmhands and elite skilling outfit teleports.

Kharid-et pylon batteries gained Charge all. The Archaeology Guild Travel Map no longer needs a second click, adding scrolls to Globetrotter armguards no longer asks for a number, and Invention blueprint discovery has fewer confirmation and Continue buttons.

Compost bins gained Add X and Add all options. Converting logs into planks is quicker with one log type, while the list is filtered when you carry several.

Interface and visual changes

Ability books gained a Show category titles filter and quest difficulty categories returned. Several interfaces received more consistent close buttons, help buttons, dropdowns and colours. A setting can hide the information box above dropped items.

Level 99 skillcapes, inverted skillcapes and the quest cape received refreshed textures and embroidered skill icons. The icons also appear on master skillcapes and Max Guild banners. The old retro cape toggles were removed.

The Player-Owned House furniture limit increased to 500.

Why I liked this update

I was especially grateful for Fairy Rings and alternate teleport menus, because the old interactions kept fighting my muscle memory.

My Tavia's fishing rod video also appeared in the update's RuneTube section. It was the first time I'd been featured there, which was a very nice surprise alongside an update I already wanted to talk about.
