Are Spirit Attraction Potions Worth It for Seren Spirits? (RS3)

A practical RS3 breakdown of Spirit attraction potion cost, Seren spirit value, luck tiers, and the point where automatic collection pays for itself.

4 min 59 sec

The short answer

Use a Spirit attraction potion when you regularly walk away and would miss roughly three or more Seren spirits per hour. If you watch the screen, use an alert, or already catch most spirits yourself, clicking them manually is usually the better value.

How automatic collection works

Each dose lasts 15 minutes and automatically collects Seren spirits that appear while the effect is active. With Grace of the elves equipped, the game can check for a Seren spirit once per minute on the first eligible gathering experience drop, with a 10% chance on each check. That averages about six spirits per hour, although short sessions can vary widely.

Cost and break-even point

Using prices checked for the video on August 31, 2026, a four-dose potion cost about 117,000 GP per hour of effect. A six-dose flask cost about 195,000 GP, or about 130,000 GP per hour. Prices will change with the Grand Exchange.

  • At roughly 44,400 GP per spirit with tier 3 luck, six spirits are worth about 266,000 GP before potion cost.
  • At roughly 44,900 GP per spirit with tier 4 luck, excluding Hazelmere's signet ring, six spirits are worth about 270,000 GP before potion cost.
  • The potion needs to recover roughly three spirits per hour to cover its cost at those prices.

Tier 3 versus tier 4 luck

The ordinary expected value is nearly identical between tier 3 and tier 4 luck. Tier 4 slightly improves the normal table and unlocks the Vecna skull and the Hazelmere's signet ring branch. The ring is the dramatic difference, but it is too rare to treat as dependable hourly profit.

  • The Hazelmere's signet ring chance is roughly 1 in 83,200 per Seren spirit with tier 4 luck active.
  • At six spirits per hour, 100 hours gives only about a 0.72% chance of receiving one.
  • It takes roughly 9,600 hours at that rate to reach a 50% chance.

Which player should use the potion?

  • Active player: skip the potion if you reliably catch most Seren spirits yourself.
  • Alert-assisted player: an Alt1 notification can make manual collection practical if you remain close enough to respond.
  • AFK player: use the potion when you routinely miss around half the spirits; ordinary drops should cover the cost over time at the prices used in the video.
  • Tier 4 player: treat the HSR chance as a lottery-ticket bonus, not the reason the potion is profitable.
